More Darjeeling and Trek Pics

We've finally moved south, hoping to find something warmer! We flew from Kolkata to Bangalore two days ago and entered a completely different world. Bangalore is famous for being the home of the call center and for its IT and high tech industries. (If you've read The World is Flat, Bangalore is the city he's talking about in the introduction - where he's standing on a golf course looking at the palatial office buildings of all the IT companies.) Parts of the city are very Western and modern, but there are plenty of parts that aren't - the cows just aren't near the McDonalds. Definitely a different side of India. Ashifa's dad has decided to make his first trip to India - he arrived yesterday and he's going to travel with us for a week or so before we head on to Southeast Asia. It was great to see him and it's nice to have a little bit of home here with us! It's my turn to fall victim to Delhi Belly, so I'm sticking close to the hotel room today while they're out doing some sightseeing, so I thought I'd share some more pictures from Darjeeling and the trek.
